Business Development Associate

Role Overview

As a Business Development Associate at Pluang, you will support the company’s strategic exploration and evaluation of new business opportunities. Working closely with senior leadership, you will assist in analyzing innovative ideas through regulatory, macroeconomic, institutional, and political lenses, and help translate them into structured proposals. Beyond strategic research and analysis, you will also contribute to stakeholder mapping, coordination with external counterparts, and ensuring that critical engagement processes run smoothly.

This role provides a unique opportunity to gain exposure to strategic decision-making at the highest level while developing a broad understanding of Indonesia’s fintech and investment ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting research and analysis on emerging business models, regulatory and macroeconomic developments, institutional frameworks, stakeholder dynamics, and political landscapes relevant to fintech and investment.
  • Assist in developing structured proposals from early-stage concepts, supporting the CEO and leadership team by analyzing feasibility, identifying opportunities, and outlining potential risks.
  • Assist in the preparation of briefing notes, reports, and engagement materials for senior leadership.
  • Work closely with internal teams (Public Policy, Partnerships, Product, Finance) to ensure holistic evaluation of new initiatives
  • Map and track relevant stakeholders (industry associations, regulators, partners) and support coordination activities.
  • Support operational processes that ensure smooth stakeholder engagement and execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain organized documentation of research, stakeholder interactions, and strategic initiatives to support institutional knowledge building.
  • Monitor global fintech and digital finance innovations and assess their applicability to the Indonesian context.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Public Policy, Law, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience in consulting, strategy, policy research, regulatory analysis, or business development.
  • Solid foundation in research, data analysis, and business model evaluation.
  • Familiarity with Indonesia’s regulatory, institutional, and macroeconomic landscape, with a strong interest in investment and fintech innovation.
  • Ability to quickly learn and synthesize new regulatory or policy frameworks into actionable insights.
  • Proven ability to support project execution: preparing reports, coordinating stakeholder engagements, maintaining structured documentation.
  • Comfortable working with both qualitative and quantitative materials (policy notes, stakeholder maps, financial/market data, Excel-based analysis).
  • Excellent communication skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English, able to adapt tone for executive-level presentations.
  • Collaborative mindset, able to work closely with leadership and across teams (Public Policy, Partnerships, Product, Finance).
  • Strong professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling sensitive company initiatives.
  • Political and cultural awareness in navigating institutions and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive attitude: not just executing tasks, but spotting potential risks, opportunities, or gaps early.
